Its that time of year again kiddies!

Portage theatre proudly presents Terror in the Aisles 4!  This latest installment brings you not one, not two but three zombie flicks all for the price of$12!  We bring to you George Romeros’s Night of the Living Dead, Midwest Premiere of Rec 2, and Lucio Fulci Zombie.  This films are sure to thrill you chill you and give you memories to last.

In honor of this film festival I am giving away a pair of tickets to this fantastic film festival!

Are you an aspiring makeup artist or an experienced gorey makeup artist?  Would you want to help out with an event that springs up about 2000 zombies?  Would you want to see your creations  walk around downtown or even yourself walk around getting odd or awesome looks from the living walking around downtown?  Well this event is for you!  We are Chicago Zombie March, an organization that produces the Chicago Zombie March, a fun filled day for those who love horror and those who just love zombies!  My name is Colleen Jones and I am one of the co founders and along with David Lasley, is one of the head makeup artists.  We are in need of makeup artists for our zombie makeup crew.  The march will take place on June 5 around 4.  The march will begin at the bean in Millennium Park and we will walk around downtown.  The makeup spot’s location will be listed on the facebook event page

"It’s that time again, zombies! We are having another zombie march in June. The rules are very simple: Dress and be made up as a zombie and just shamble and act like one.

We will all meet at Millennium Park and take it from there. The last few years we have walked to the museum campus, then taken a stroll down Michigan Avenue. We’re also considering having some zombie kickball or wiffleball.

If folks want their makeup done, Colleen Jones and David Lasley are available to take appointments. ( just message them)

More details will come as the march gets closer and closer, so start those undead gears a rolling folks!"

UPDATE regarding the Zombieland Zombie March & Screening October 1: NO VIDEO CAMERAS will be allowed in the theater. Photography at the zombie march is welcome, and as of right now word is that regular cameras will be allowed in the theater, but video cameras WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE THEATER. If you want to shoot video of the march, that’s fine, but please make arrangements for your video camera prior to the screening.

ATTENTION CHICAGO ZOMBIES!! Join your fellow Chicago undead for a FREE advanced screening of Columbia Pictures’ ZOMBIELAND (Rated R) and a ZOMBIE WALK on Thursday, October 1, starting at 7:30pm by the fountain in front of Navy Pier. The walk will begin at 8pm and ends at the AMC River East on Illinois Avenue. Admission is FREE but you must dress like a Zombie! There will also be prizes for best dressed Zombies courtesy of Zombie Army Productions.

CALLING ALL CHICAGO ZOMBIES! Join us in inaugurating the 2009 Halloween and haunted house season as we BRING THE FEAR to Navy Pier!

On Saturday, October 3, zombies are invited to gather at the fountain in front of Navy Pier at 4:30 pm. We’ll shamble our way through the inside of the Pier and back down the outer deck and directly into The Fear Haunted House.

ALL ZOMBIES GET IN FREE!

That’s right! Anybody who shows up AS A ZOMBIE at The Fear Haunted House at Navy Pier between 6:00 pm and closing on October 3rd GETS IN FREE!

On behalf of myself and all the admins, I would like to thank each and every one of you that helped and showed up to this zombie extravaganza. but that will take forever. But i can not thank you zombies enough for coming to the march. We mean that. Even thou we had rain and it stopped 30 min before the event. I am truly glad that we still had a huge turn out as we did.

I never got the full head count but i do know that from the front and looking back we took up three block maybe four. And from looking at the sites and talking to some admins. I guess that we had about 1,200 zombies. Thats give or take. But still it was alot of people. And we are sorry that we made every one walk to Navy Pier and have to turn around and walk back. Next year will be different. But you can be happy and laugh that we crashed a wedding photo,made tons of cars honk and made ever one in the down town area freak out and stop to look.

ON A SIDE NOTE. I noticed that some signs and other things had blood on them. I am not happy about that and you know who you are that did it. But if we are going to do this again next year. Then we need to try to not put blood on things. So that will be no spitting blood, dripping, smearing and so on. The blood needs to stay on you.
